A Tailored Approach
We are client-driven and are open to suggestions on activities which our clients would like to do. We like to promote a mixture of learning and fun. We agree a personalised programme package with individuals and their families. New activities can be added subject to demand. Typical activities include:
- Preparing a packed lunch
- Making tea or coffee
- Housekeeping skills
- Laundry skills: each individual can bring his or her own laundry to wash & iron
- Healthy living: how to live a healthy life and eat healthy foods
- Gardening: growing flowers and vegetables – and sunflower growing competition!
- Seasonal activities: Easter egg decorations, Christmas decorations, &c.
- Basic literacy & numeracy
- Basic computer skills
- Arts & Crafts
- Exercise to music
- Bingo & other games
- Blind-folded food & drink tasting
Off Site Activities
We also offer outside excursions. These may be charged extra if transport costs and entrance fees apply. Off-site activities will only be undertaken with your permission. Typical off-site activities could include:
- Shopping
- Park and countryside walks
- Leighton Buzzard steam railway
- Library visit
- Cinema
- Pub lunch
- Bowling
All guests will be supported and closely supervised at all times
Sessions and Activities
Opens at 9am
Activities start at 9.30
On Monday morning at 9.30, we all come to together to discuss what session and activities we want to do during the week. Timings are flexible, but as a guide:
9.00am: Sign-in
Wash hands and look at the menu board to see what’s on offer for lunch. I will be there to support you with preparing your packed lunch. After preparing your lunch it will be put in the fridge with your name on it.
9.30: Activities start
10.15: Time out for 30 minutes
10.45: Back to activities
Noon: Wash your hands and pick up your lunch and a drink
1pm: Activities
2.45pm: Tidy-up time
2.45pm: Discussion of the day over a drink and biscuits
3pm: Home Time
Wednesday is Fruit Bowl Day. On Wednesday you will be offered fruit – no chocolate!
What’s Included?
A full day includes lunch (half-days are available without lunch)

Extra charges only apply if you’re going on certain trips.

Think you’d like to join us?
Contact us to arrange a free taster (preferably by email or phone). A taster can be for half a day, or an hour – whatever you’re comfortable with.
We’ll explain everything and show you the types of activities we run. Activities are tailored to individual tastes, as well as the preferences of any current guests.
If you have a Social Worker, they can help arrange payment of our fees with the Council. If you don’t have a Social Worker, the Council can advise.
At present, we can’t arrange transport to and from our centre. You should get transport costs paid by the Council. Again, your Social Worker can help with this.
We’ll then give you all the information you need to join us!
